For Those Single Ladies..
Hi I'm Sinead and I blog over at Dreaming Again.
So Valentines Day is just around the corner! Eeek! Last year was my first year in 4 years being single on Valentines Days and honestly, it turned out better than most of the years I was in a relationship.
So if you are single and feeling rubbish about it, focus on the positives; you don't have to stress about being a wonderful girlfriend or feel like crap if your boyfriend doesn't turn out to be as romantic as you imagined. It really can be great being single on Valentines day!
Here are some of the things I would recommend doing:

Here are some of the things I would recommend doing:
- Valentines day is all about showing love. Who says that has to be to a partner? You can show anyone special in your life that you love them. Your mum, your best friend, your sister. Perhaps you could buy them flowers, or bake them something nice. Making someone else feel happy and loved will make you feel happy too and seeing their response and appreciation will make you feel loved and needed .
- Spend it with your girlfriends. Sisters before misters any day is what I say! Why not spend the night with your other single friends? You could hit the town and look for other single boys haha or even better, have a night in, watch movies , eat ice-cream, and have a good ol' catch up!
- If you can't spend it with friends there's nothing wrong with spending it alone, how about practising some self love ;) pamper yourself! run a bath, give yourself a facial, listen to your favourite music, read, relax and do whatever it is you love.
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentines Day however you spend it.
For Those Loved Up Lassies..
Low Cost Valentine’s Day Ideas
Hello there!
So as Valentine’s Day is coming up, some
of you may be thinking 'what will I do with my boyfriend/girlfriend on the
day?' You may be in a new relationship or just low on funds, but whatever it is,
I’m going to give you a solution (hopefully). So here are my low budget
solutions to your Valentine’s Day problems.
1.
Watch a Movie Together
Now I know it
can be awkward going to the cinema with a date but how about making the cinema
at home? You can make the room all cosy with blankets and eat as much sweets
and popcorn as you can hold. Not only can you pause the movie if you want, but you
can cuddle up to your date without being worried about PDA (public displays of
affection).
2.
Go on a Group Date
If you have
friends with boyfriends/girlfriends, why not invite them to do something as a
group on Valentine’s Day. It will make things easier for you as if conversation
with your date gets awkward, you can fall back on your friends so that things
don’t get too uneasy for you. This will also be a good way to save money as you
can split the cost of whatever you’re doing between the group, not to mention
your date will get to meet your friends.
3.
Go on a Picnic
This one can
be interchangeable depending on the weather. If it’s a nice day, why not take
your date to a local park or green area for a picnic. You can get most of the
food from your kitchen cupboards so you don’t have to be spending big money in
a fancy restaurant. And if the weather isn’t so great, which seems more likely
if you’re in Ireland, you can do the exact same, just indoors. Think of it as
glamping without the sleeping part.
4. Go Walking
I know this
one sounds stupid but it’s the cheapest of all these ideas and possibly the
best. Whether it’s beside the sea, in a forest or in a busy city, go on a walk
with your date. It’ll give you the chance to get to know him/her better without
the interruptions of a movie. It will also push you to create conversation and
put yourself out there. And isn’t your mother always telling you to get some fresh
air? Well now’s your chance!
5. Go on an Internet Date
Now I know
you’re probably thinking this one sounds raunchy but I have good intentions! If
you can’t meet up with your date on Valentine’s Day for some reason, you can
still talk to them online. You could skype or facetime them instead and have a
chat as if it were face to face. Therefore no need to feel sad when you can’t
meet with them as you can still communicate as if they were right in front of
you.
So there you
have it, my cheap and easy ways to tackle Valentine’s Day with your new found
love. Hope you enjoyed!
Adios amigos,
The Valentines Tag
And of course it wouldn't be a complete blog post without a tag from yours truly.
1. What is your favourite Valentine’s
Day treat?
Chocolate, chicken & pizza
2. Sweethearts or chocolate
covered strawberries?
Chocolate covered strawberries definitely,
at least the fruit might make me feel a bit healthier.
3. What was your favourite Valentine’s
Day memory?
In national school when I received my
first Valentine’s Day card from someone who wasn't my dad. It was homemade with a
poem in it & a picture of a rabbit, I found out later that it was from the
boy I liked at the time.
4. What movie would you like watch
on Valentine’s Day?
I feel
like I’m supposed to say 50 Shades of Grey but I don’t know it looks a bit
raunchy. I do love First Wife's Club though.
5. Which restaurant would you
prefer to go to for a Valentine’s Day date?
Oh Nandos I went there for the first time
with my friends last week it was really nice.
( I love me some chicken )
6. What would you do on your
perfect Valentine’s date?
Go to a nice restaurant with
friends followed by sitting in bed watching movies with the lover.
7. Red or pink
lips on Valentine’s Day?
I do prefer red lips, but it depends on
the outfit I think.
8. What is your ideal Valentine’s
Day date outfit?
9. Homemade or store-bought gifts?
Homemade
for sure, it’s the thought that counts.
10. Would you wear your hair up or
hair down for a date night?
Maybe up but as
long as someone else does it because I’m crap at that.Again thanks to the lovely bloggers who helped me with this post, be sure to check out their blogs in the links. I hope you enjoyed this post, it's one of my favorites.
